Heck yea, going camping, saying goodbye to my 20’s…turning 30, drinkin’ beers… it’ll be grand. I’ll be back after the weekend!

“A wise man once told me, the definition of humility is not think too much of oneself, and not thinking too little of oneself either… it’s just not thinking of only yourself.” – Unknown

Let me put this out there to see if I’m not the only one who finds this utterly insane.
The notion that a person, I will not name names, does not believe in the idea that, even in the tiniest of measurements, the vacuous inhabitants of this world are contributing to this big debate of global warming and moreover, its destruction. That is what I am going to be talking about here.
I was told the other day by someone close to me, that us humans have no impact what-so-ever with the warming, or general damaging of the Earth moreover. None. Not one iota. It’s this type of lunacy that just doesn’t compute with me. I cannot for a second even force myself to think, let alone actually believe, the autos we drive adding carbon monoxide to the Earth’s atmosphere, deforestation, river/lake dumping, the plastic bags we so abundantly get at the grocery store, not to mention the ones we get for 5 minutes to which the recently created Subway meal rests comfortably inside, only to get discarded minutes later, don’t end up by the 10’s of millions in the oceans, rivers and landfills around the planet, which directly effect things like the Earth’s ozone layer, carbon dioxide levels moreover or the stability of various eco-systems around the planet. And this is carbon monoxide, plastic or other extremely toxic and unnatural chemicals that would otherwise not be there, if we has the great inventors we are, had not created them.
Let’s pick on just one of the above issues we’ve created– We all know that carbon monoxide is bad, not only for humans, but for all the other sensitive beings that inhabit this big blue/green rock we call home. CO is describe by the EPA as “..an odorless, colorless and toxic gas”. Now, with that definition out in the open, could someone please explain to me how it’s even possible to have a mindset which allows one to think that driving your classic, overweight, super lead gas guzzling mid 60’s hunk of metal (no matter how cool it acutally is), is not horrifically bad for the environment (all cars are bad, I’m just picking on one situation here.)? Rhetorical, I know.
I still cannot fathom how anyone can think that we do not have an impact on this planet, no matter how small. It just doesn’t compute.
Maybe I’ll edit this later… but for now, I am far too frustrated with others stupidity to continue.
Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security, deserves neither and will lose both.” – Ben Franklin
